Conservation/Restoration

[vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” background_animation=”none” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]CICRP provides scientific and technical assistance in preventative conservation and restoration at the request of proprietors and managers of cultural property concerning the Museums of France, Historical Monuments, historical archives and libraries, regional contemporary art funds (FRACs) and art centers, or any other artistic work of historical value.

CICRP supports different historical domains:

    • Easel painting
    • Mural painting
    • Stone and building materials
    • Art and materials from the 20th and 21st centuries
    • Preventative conservation, specifically problems with biological contamination (mold and infestation)
    • Graphic art.

Assistance and advice missions take place either on site¬–for restorations or assistance on historical monuments and diagnosis in preventative conservation–or in the CICRP workshops for the restoration of paintings and graphic art.
Contracting authorities can call upon CICRP to analyze a situation and define the challenges in terms of conservation/restoration, to propose a general diagnosis, and to establish methodological recommendations. CICRP can also participate in the development of a provisional schedule and the drafting of specifications. CICRP also supports the applicant throughout various stages of the project (by being present at steering committees, science committees, etc.).

Requests should be made to CICRP management (info@cicrp.fr). Assistance missions outside of the Provence-Alps-French Riviera region (PACA) are subject to an agreement specifying the content and methods of the CICRP intervention.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
